Any Boys or Girls wishing to be a part of the Darling Downs Triathlon Team for 2021 please see Mr Lincoln for more information. This can involve any student turning 13 or older in 2021. Students must compete at the Oakey Triathlon on Sunday 8 November to be eligible for selection.

Primary Touch Football

Congratulations to all students selected to represent the College at the SWQ Primary All Schools Carnival in Dalby next Sunday. Due to Covid 19 restrictions this event will be spectator free. A draw for the carnival has been passed onto students. Thanks to Mrs Tresillian and Miss McDuff for giving our students this opportunity.

The 2021 QISSRL and QISSN Carnivals will be held in Brisbane in the first week of the June/ July holidays. The Rugby League Carnival is open to any boys turning 16 or older in 2021. The Netball Carnival in open to any girls in Years 9-12 in 2021. The Netball Squad will begin training next Wednesday morning (October 28) for five weeks at the PCYC from 7.00am – 8.00am. There will be a parent and student information meeting for both teams at 5.30pm on Monday 26 October in the MPC. Students have been emailed information about this meeting.

Secondary Touch Football

Results from the Qld All Schools Touch Football Carnival held last weekend are listed below. Thanks to Sandy Gleeson, Kaysey Wilkins, Steve Gillespie and Lorelle Sankey for their assistance in coaching our teams. Across twenty games the College had 10 Wins, 1 Draw and 9 Losses.

The Under 15 Boys team had a great carnival finishing second in their pool and qualifying for the Finals 16 on Saturday for the first time since 2014. Three boys only came into the team during the holidays which makes the results even more remarkable. This was a very even pool with most games closely contested. It was fantastic the boys managed to win most of these tight games.

Win vs Sienna College                                       7-0

Draw with Wavell SHS                                       6-6

Loss to St Laurence’s                                         3-4

Win vs Clairvaux MacKillop                                 4-2

Win vs Centenary Heights SHS                           6-5

Win vs Southport SHS                                        6-5

Final Round 16 Game

Loss to Shalom Bundaberg                                 1-6

The Under 15 Girls had a sound carnival finishing sixth in their pool recording two wins. A major improvement from past years is that the girls except for the All Hallows game were competitive in each match.

Win vs Trinity Beenleigh                                     3-2

Loss to Gladstone SHS                                      1-2

Loss to Ormeau Woods SHS                              0-3

Loss to Marsden SHS (Quarter Finalists)            0-4

Loss to All Hallows                                             0-8

Loss to Varsity Lakes SHS                                 2-5

Win vs Mansfield SHS 2                                     2-1

The Under 18 Mixed Team had a solid carnival finishing third in their pool and highest ranked third team overall but with only Quarter Finals (not a Round of 16 Finals) this year, this wasn’t enough to make finals on Sunday.  Thanks to Year 12 students who have now finished their All Schools carnivals for the College.

Win vs Harristown SHS                                      6-1

Win vs Kenmore SHS                                        8-0

Loss to Helensvale SHS (Semi Finalists)            0-9

Win vs Matthews Flinders                                   5-0

Loss to St Michael’s Carrara                               7-8

Win vs Ferny Grove SHS                                    6-1

2021 QLD All Schools Touch Football Carnival

The Under 15 Girls Teams will compete from Wednesday October 6 until Saturday October 9 (Finals). The Under 18 Mixed will compete from Friday October 8 until Sunday October 10 (Finals). Trials will be held in February next year to select teams. It is unlikely we will have an Under 15 Boys Team in 2021.
