Senior Years
The countdown is on!
Our Year 12 students have entered the home straight in their schooling journey. While they still have assessment to complete, anticipation is building towards the number of significant events that will be held in their last week. I commend this cohort for the diligence they have shown throughout the year. Year 12 is a challenging time for any young adult, and this group deserves the celebrations that will occur over the coming weeks.
Finishing Strong
On the first day back this term, I met with all Senior Years students to discuss the term ahead. I mentioned that Term 4 is my favourite term. Not because it is the shortest or that the Christmas holidays are imminent, it is because it is an opportunity for students to showcase and consolidate everything they have learnt and the new skills they have developed across the year. 'Finishing strong' is the key message for the term. In this, I mean that students continue to focus on their controllables. Examples include:
- Arriving at classes on time, with all required equipment
- Paying attention in class and completing all set tasks
- Getting a head start on assessment and not leaving it to the last minute
- Having a regular study and revision schedule
- Wearing the College uniform with pride
- Continuing to demonstrate the Senior Years Success Qualities of gratitude, respect, perseverance, independence and excellence
In the end it is all about being intentional with our actions, coming to school each day to be a better student and learner than the day before.
Assessment Calendars
The Term 4 assessment calendars are now available on the College website. These documents are provided to assist students and parents with mapping out busy periods throughout the term. The examination timetables will be released within the next fortnight. If students are struggling with their assessment loads, their first point of contact should be their teacher.

Achievements
Our Year 9-12 students participate in a wide variety of College and community events and activities. I would love to recognise those students who achieve success in their various endeavours. Please email me at matthew.hodge@twb.catholic.edu.au if you have some news to share.
