Partnering with McDonalds Workplace
McDonalds, Dalby has been an employer of many students from Our Lady of the Southern Cross College and representative of McDonalds, Kym Munro reports that those students have always been excellent employees due to their guidance with interviews skills and expectations for work ethic which are instilled in them through their lessons at school.
Kym says McDonalds encourages students to apply for part time jobs within their organisation as they believe it is ideal for young people to get a job as soon as they can. Kym believes the working environment in McDonalds restaurants provides a number of skills and a level of motivation and independance that is invaluable.
Some of the benefits of working at McDonalds are outlined below:-
- Family environment
- Flexible work arrangements. We work around school, extracurricular activities and personal requirements.
- We take very seriously the policies of Good People Practices and are strict due to heavy regulation on the legislation. To flow on from this, we understand that we have a big responsibility as an employer of School Aged Children, a responsibility we don’t take lightly and have clear systems in place so as to not breach QLD requirements.
- It is a fun, results based environment where you can work with your friends.
- Many employers recruit staff from McDonalds as they know they have excellent work skills that are translatable into any industry:
- Workplace safety and security
- Customer service
- Food safety practices
- Appearance and presentation
- Working within time constraints and deadlines
- Punctuality
- Effective communication
- The need to follow clear procedures
- Working in a team environment
- Working under pressure
- Responding to customer complaints
- Organisational skills and balancing work, school and life.
- Thinking ahead.
- The list goes on!
