Early Years
It’s been a busy time in the Early Years! Prep students welcomed new faces to the first of our Preppie for a Morning sessions, where lots of eager young children came along to experience first hand what a morning as an OLSCC student would be like. Our current Prep children were superb ambassadors for the College! The hospitality continued on Friday, as the Prep children welcomed Mums, Grandmas and Aunties to the annual Mother’s Day High Tea and Prayer celebration. This tradition has evolved over the years and it is always a treat to welcome back the Mums for their second, third or even fourth High Tea! It is wonderful to be able to take some time out to honour these special women in our lives.

The next Preppie for a Morning will be held on June 11. Please encourage anyone you know who may be interested in taking a look at our wonderful school to register their interest by phoning the College office. During Semester 2, we will once again offer the Pre-Prep Shooting Stars program on Monday and Thursday mornings, from 9:00am-11:00am. This will be a repeated session to cater for children at either end of the week, so that their current Kindergarten or Daycare program is not compromised. The focus on this program is to ensure a smooth transition into Prep in 2020. There has been significant interest in Prep enrolment, and as places are limited, families are encouraged to enrol before August 1. All enrolments will then be followed up on especially set aside Interview Enrolment Days on
- August 19-21
- September 4-6
Students across Years 1-4 are currently having their reading levels reviewed as part of our ongoing commitment to the Reading Improvement Strategy. In addition, Students in Year 3 have tackled NAPLAN tests this week, which they have approached with confidence and a sense of excitement! It has been wonderful to watch their smiling faces at both the beginning and end of each session. This is testament to the diligence both students and teachers have put in to ensuring we view regular assessment as simply another part of our learning journey.

One last special photo is from our Early Years Excellence Awards Assembly which included lots of students all called Lucy/Lucinda. Enjoy this photo of "Lots of lucky Lucys" who were award winners this week.
