Darling Downs Aquathlon Trials

Any Boys or Girls turning 11 or 12 in 2026 (Born 2014 or 2015) who would like to participate in the Darling Downs Aquathlon Trials please see Mr Lincoln for more information. An Aquathlon consists of a 1km run, 200m swim, followed by another 1km run. These trials will be held at the Dalby Aquatic Centre on Friday 31 October. Students must be able to swim the 200m without stopping. Nominations will close on Monday 27 October.

QCIS Rugby Sevens

Thanks to Mr Storey, Mr Anderton, Mr Cuskelly and Miss Boon for attending the QCIS Carnival in Warwick. The College sent Under 14 and Under 16 Boys and Girls Team. Our Open Boys played in combined Barbarians Team on the day and won the carnival.

Touch Football

Highfields Invitational Touch Football Carnival

The College sent three teams to the Highfields SSC Invitational Touch Carnival. All teams obtained some valuable match practice against other school teams before the QLD All Schools Carnival.

Gold Coast All Schools Touch Football Carnival

Congratulations to all students who attended the All Schools Carnival at Runaway Bay on the Gold Coast. Thanks to Leah McDuff, Elise Cuskelly and Zac Storey for coaching our teams, along with Molly and Jack Gibson who refereed on behalf of the College, along with Mr Storey. The highlight was the performance of the Under 15 Boys Team who made the Semi Finals out of 89 teams in the division. This is the College’s equal best ever result. The boys also scored the most tries out of any U15 Team.

QISSN / QISSRL Appleton Awards

Each year the Open Boys Rugby League Team and QISSN Netball Team have a Players Player award. These awards are named after past students Mark and Elly Appleton who went on to have distinguished senior careers in their chosen sports. Mrs Judy Applelton was able to present these awards on assembly to Chloe Manteit and Braithen Crothers.

QLD School Sport Championships

Congratulations to Darci Geiger who represented the Darling Downs at the Under 12 State Cricket Championships in Brisbane at the end of last term.
