Darling Downs Touch Football

Six College students attended the State U15 Touch Football Championships in Cleveland. They were Joshua Barwick, William Barwick, Jasper Filewood, Ryker Filewood, Oliver Lewington and Max Horchner. Jasper Filewood was Co-Captain of the team which won the Bronze Medal. Jasper and Ryker Filewood were selected in the QLD Team to attend the National Championships in Ballarat. Oliver Lewington was named as a Shadow Player for this team.

Volleyball

Congratulations to Charlotte Bennie who was part of the QLD U15 Volleyball Team that won the National U15 Championships in Adelaide.

Bunya District Under 12 Girls Rugby League Trials

Any girls turning 11 or 12 this year who would like to attend Bunya District Rugby League Trials please see Mr Lincoln for more information. The trials will be held on Wednesday 16 July at the Dalby Rugby League Trials from 3.30pm.

Darling Downs Girls Rugby League Trials

Any girls turning 13 or 14 this year who would like to attend Darling Downs Rugby League Trials need to see Mr Lincoln. The trials will be held in Toowoomba on Friday 25 July.

Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival

The Catholic Primary Schools Athletics Carnival will be on Friday 18 July at the O’Quinn Street Oval in Toowoomba. This will be for students in Years 3-6 only. The College Coach will transport students to the event.

Confraternity Shield Rugby League and QISSN Netball.

In the first week of the holidays 12 boys and 10 girls from the College will attend the Confraternity Shield Rugby League and QISSN Netball Carnival in Rockhampton and Bundaberg. We also have Lana O’Callaghan, Mia Smith and Karlie Falvey playing Rugby League with the St Joseph’s College’s Girls Team from Toowoomba. The Rugby League Team is short on numbers in 2025 and are fortunate to have boys from Dalby Christian College (Byron McMillan, Cooper Collins and Jarvis Steinhordt) and Mary MacKillop Highfields (Hunter Abbott, William Cobb, Max Doveton, Kai Randall, Jonas Vanderzee) joining us for the competition. A list of our fabulous sponsors is attached to the newsletter. All Rugby League Games will be livestreamed. The netball team has two games which will be livestreamed also. Updates and links will be posted on the College’s Facebook account during the week.

The Rugby League Team are – Caleb Wieland, Braithen Crothers, Tobin Smart, Bronson Barnett, Nate Boundy, Judd Alderton, Alex Patterson, Charlie Johansen, Henry Stephens, Travis Collins, Hudson Marshall, Rory McUtchen. The team will be supported by Mr Gillespie, Mr Spain, Mr Fraser, Mr Cuskelly, Mr Storey and Mr Lincoln.

The Netball Team will be supported by Mrs Bennie, Miss Fry, Miss Boon, and Mrs Brennan. The students are –Hannah Taylor, Taylor Marshall, Summer Buckley, Chloe Manteit, Arabella Donaldson, Emma Cusack, Lucy Chaplin, Emmy Harms, Charlotte Bennie, and Abby Zillman.
