5/6 and 7/8 QAMT Maths Quiz
On Tuesday 20th August and Wednesday 21st August our College sent three 5/6 and three 7/8 teams to the annual Queensland Association of Mathematics Teachers Quiz. These students completed Round 1 of the competition at Chinchilla State High School and worked their way through 5 rounds of problem-solving Maths. Each round offered specific types of Maths questions (eg. Estimation, General Knowledge), and the students had to work together to find a solution. Points were accumulated over the 5 rounds and all the OLSCC teams finished in great position and proudly represented our College. All teams will move on to Round 2 in early Term 4 to see if we have a shot at the State Final. A big thank you to Mrs Jodie Biggar, Mrs Carey Twidale, Mrs Karlie Burton and Ms Sally-Anne Dellit for supporting and transporting our students on the day.
Year 5/6 - Matilda Kahler, Chrel Doria, Isla Blair, Jean Timms, Koby Ashurst, Xavier Skerman, Terrence Liang, Will Burton and Jo Heintze
Year 7/8 - Arrt Blinco, Lochie McNaughton, Tom Clarke, Bobby Machin, Cody Bryant, Ashton Crothers, Lainey Geiger, Indiana Wilson and Bella Bonnin.

6A HASS
On Monday 26th August, 6A connected live with a parliamentary expert through the Parliamentary Education Office's digital programs. Parliamentary Insider was a 50-minute program and explored the function and significance of Australia's democratic system of government. During this program we were investigating:
- how laws are made through Parliament
- the responsibilities of representatives
- the formation of government
- how government is kept accountable
This program was a great resource that helped us deepen our learning in our Term 3 HASS unit on Making our Nation.
