The Careers Office celebrates our first year as a team working towards career education, career development and pathways for secondary students at the College. It has been an eventful and exciting year with events including the year 10 micro skills, year 9 Industry dinner, Dalby Careers Expo, year 6, 7 and 8 Career Days, year 10 SET planning, year 10 and 11 McNab construction tours and year 12 QTAC applications to name a few. We also experienced up to 44 students between from grades 10 to 12 already starting their pathways to work employed in local business and industry as school-based apprentices or trainees. This was celebrated with the 13 current year 12 students this month at the SBA Employer thank you lunch. It is exciting to know that these students have now transferred to full time employment. We look forward to another successful year in the career education and pathway space in 2024.

School Based Apprenticeship

Congratulations to Year 10 student, Bronson Barnett who is our latest school-based apprentice with G.J. Gardner Homes in Dalby in a Certificate III in Carpentry. Bronson will start his SBA this week.
