McNab Builders Tour – Police Precinct, Dalby
Back in May of 2023, several students from the college who demonstrated an interest in the construction industry, were invited to attend a tour of the partly renovated and new construction site of the Dalby Police Station. On 25 October, these same students were invited back to this site to take a tour of the nearly completed project. This tour gave these students an insight into the progress by the building company McNab Constructions and its contractors over the past six months. As this is a multimillion-dollar project, this has enabled students to gain some excellent insights and opportunities into the construction industry and the multiple pathways that can be taken. It was interesting and encouraging to note that McNab had relied on almost all its suppliers and contracts from the local area and the greater Darling Downs Region. The college would like to thank McNab Builders with providing our students with this rewarding insight into careers in the construction industry.
