Vicki Wilson Cup Netball

Thanks to Mrs Bennie, Miss Fry and Mrs Wilkins for coaching our teams at the Annual Vicki Wilson Cup Competition in Toowoomba. It was great to have two Junior Teams compete on the day. A great experience for all girls involved.

QISSN Netball

Congratulations to the QISSN Netball Team who completed their preparation for the upcoming carnival in the Brisbane with a trial game in the MPC against St Joseph’s College from Toowoomba last week. In a tight game St Joseph’s won 38-33.

Darling Downs U15 Girls Cricket

Any girls wishing to attend Darling Downs Under 15 Cricket Trials need to see Mr Lincoln for more information. The trials will be held early next term.

Bunya District Girls League

Any Girls Born in 2011 or 2012 who would like to attend Bunya District and Darling Rugby League Trials need to see Mr or Mrs Lincoln for more information.

QLD Representative

Brock Sankey and Dan O’Callaghan were members of the Darling Downs 18 Boys Touch Football Team who won the State Championships at Southport last weekend. The fourth time DD has one the Carnival since it started in 1985 and the first win since 2012. Brock Sankey was named in the QLD U18 Team for the National Championships in September and was awarded Players Player for the Darling Downs Team.

Confraternity Shield Rugby League and QISSN Netball.

In the first week of the holidays 21 boys and 12 girls from the College will attend the Confraternity Shield Rugby League and QISSN Netball Carnival in Brisbane. We also have Yolande Gordon, Claire Harth and Karlie Falvey playing Rugby League with the St Joseph’s College’s Girls Team from Toowoomba. A list of our fabulous sponsors is attached to the newsletter. All Rugby League Games will be livestreamed. The netball team has one game on the show court which will be livestreamed. Updates and links will be posted on the College’s Facebook account during the week.

The Rugby League Team – Brock Sankey, Fletcher James, Travis Tia, Sam Garside, Fletcher James, Joey Sankey, Dan O’Callaghan, Joseph Sankey, Lyucian King Togia, Hayden Taylor, Tom Gilespie, Jacob Utz, Harry Cooper, Cody Wenham, Lachlan Hart, Caleb Wieland, Braithen Crothers, Kurt Clarke, Will Elder, Cobie Wedrat and Bailey Martin. The team will be coached by Mr Gillespie, Mr Spain, Mr Fraser, Mr Paffey and Mr Lincoln.

The Netball Team will be coached and managed by Miss Price, Mrs Bennie, and Miss Fry. The students are – Hannah Pattison, Emma Donaldson, Emma Cusack, Hannah Taylor, Charli Coleman, Charlotte Roberts, Monique Smith, Tiffany Ham, Chloe Manteit, Carla Nobbs, Kaitlyn Harms and Abby Marshall.

Inter House Athletics Carnivals

The Under 5 to Under 11 Inter House Athletics Carnival will be held next Wednesday 21 June. The Under 12-18 Carnival will be held on Thursday and Friday 22/23 June. The timetable for both days is attached to the newsletter. Students are able to wear house colours on all days they are competing. Programs will be uploaded to Parent Portal next week. All Relays, and Gift races will be run on Thursday 31 August.

Catholic Schools Athletics Carnival

The Catholic Primary Schools Athletics Carnival will be on Friday 14 July at the O’Quinn Street Oval in Toowoomba. This will be for students in Years 3-6 only. The College Coach will transport students to the event. Students who have been selected to attend will be notified by the end of term.
